Our commitment
Landmark Fine Homes and Colten Mortgage are committed to making this payment calculator usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Measures in place
This tool was built with the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard operable. All controls — including the loan-type selector, quick down-payment buttons, inputs, and the Print and Share actions — are reachable and operable with the keyboard.
- Visible focus. A clear focus outline shows which control is active for keyboard users.
- Skip link. A "Skip to calculator/content" link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass the header.
- Labels and descriptions. Every input has a programmatic label; estimated fields are marked and described.
- ARIA roles and states. The loan-type control is a labeled group and exposes the selected option (
aria-pressed). - Live updates announced. When you change an input, the new estimated total and key warnings are announced to screen readers via polite live regions, so you don't have to hunt for the result.
- Text alternatives. The payment-breakdown bar is decorative and hidden from assistive technology, because the same figures are presented in an adjacent text list.
- Color and contrast. Text and interactive elements are designed to meet AA contrast, and information is never conveyed by color alone.
- Reduced motion. Animations and transitions are disabled for visitors who set the "reduce motion" preference.
- Responsive and zoom-friendly. The layout adapts to small screens and remains usable when text is enlarged.
Known limitations
This is an evolving tool. Some printed-summary styling depends on your browser's print settings, and third-party logo images include alternative text but are outside our direct control. We welcome reports of any barriers you encounter.
